About Me

I am an artist living on the south coast of England. I studied fine art painting over twenty years ago and I have continued to develop my interest in art and painting. I have since trained as an Art Therapist and I continue to work in that field.

My paintings often develop over time and have a loose figurative style, usually beginning with an idea or a feeling that captures some sense of 'otherworldly' or the uncanny.

These images then form the beginning of my paintings that can be  layered to form collected scenes, which together attempt to convey a sense of place and time. Sometimes the starting point disappears altogether allowing a more painterly interpreted view of the world to emerge.

As my paintings relate to places, situations and experiences they are personal and perhaps universal too. I generally appreciate the everyday banal experience which I emphasise through the act of looking. I hope this allows an opportunity that the paintings may relate to others too as commonplace but with their own personal attachment or narrative.
All paintings are for sale and I am contactable via email or the contact form (just click the button below). I don’t paint with the idea to make money but I do look for payment that reflects my use of time and materials.

I enjoy the painting process and it is very pleasing if people find a piece of artwork that looks good on their wall. The prices I think reflect this ethos and you are welcome to contact me to talk about price but for a guide the prices range from between £100 for small paintings up to £600 for large canvases.
